Professor Alena Grushko

(BSc, PhD)

Professor Alena Grushko is a sport psychologist whose career combines applied work in elite football with an academic and research foundation in psychology and sport science. With experience across professional clubs and high-performance support organisations in Russia, she is recognised for bringing structured, evidence-informed psychological practice into daily training and competitive environments.

Alena currently works as a Sports Psychologist at FC Dynamo Moscow (since October 2019), supporting performance through psychological skills training, mental preparation, and ongoing athlete support within a high-demand professional setting. Alongside this, her applied background includes work with the Juventus Academy Moscow (November 2017–December 2019), contributing to youth development environments where mindset, learning behaviours, confidence, and coping skills are central to progression.

Previously, she spent six years at the Moscow Center of Advanced Sport Technologies (April 2014–March 2020) as a sports psychologist, operating in a multidisciplinary performance context and strengthening her experience in athlete monitoring, performance support systems, and applied intervention. She has also held research roles at Moscow State University, including a period as a Junior Research Fellow (October 2018–October 2019), and completed doctoral-level study and research at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Her academic background includes study at Omsk State University and Lomonosov Moscow State University, aligning her applied work with a strong research-driven perspective. Fluent in Russian, English, and Spanish, Professor Grushko is well positioned to work across diverse teams and cultures.

Her specialist area is sport psychology, with a focus on helping athletes and teams develop the mental skills that underpin consistent performance—attention control, confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, and effective preparation under pressure.
