Choosing a course

Which course should I take?

Start at Courses, or browse by subject from Key Areas — strength & conditioning, nutrition, psychology, performance analysis, goalkeeping, injury prevention and the rest.

Every course page says who it is written for and what you will be able to do at the end. Courses run from Foundation through Intermediate, Advanced and Masters level, so if a subject is new to you the Foundation certificate in it is the place to begin.

Do I need a degree or a coaching badge first?

No. The course pages set out who each one is designed for, and they are written for a wide range of backgrounds — coaches at every level, sport scientists, analysts, students and anyone working towards a role in the game.

How long does a course take?

Each course page shows its learning hours — for example 40 hrs learning — on the course itself. Study is online and at your own pace, so how long it takes in weeks is up to you.

What is a bundle?

A bundle groups several certificates in one subject into a single diploma-level programme. See Bundles.

Can I see something before I buy?

Yes. Many courses have a free guidebook you can download, and there are hundreds of free articles, podcast episodes and journal pieces written by the same faculty who teach the courses.

Enrolling and paying

How do I enrol?

Open the course you want and use the enrol button on that page. It takes you to the ISSPF Learning Hub to complete your purchase and set up your account.

How can I pay?

Course fees are paid in advance by credit or debit card, or by direct bank transfer.

Why is the price shown in my currency?

Course prices are published in several currencies — pounds, US dollars, euros, Australian and Canadian dollars, South African rand and Malaysian ringgit — and the site shows the one for the country you are browsing from. It is the same course either way.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within limits set out in full in our Terms and Conditions. In short: online courses are 100% refundable for 30 days after payment, as long as you have not completed the first module. Once the test at the end of the first module has been completed there is no refund.

Printed workbooks are non-refundable, because each one is printed on demand for your order.

To ask for a refund inside that window, send us a message.

I paid but nothing has arrived.

Check the spam or promotions folder of the address you paid with first. If it is not there, tell us — include the email address you used and roughly when you paid, and we can find the order.

Signing in and studying

Where do I log in?

At the ISSPF Learning Hub, which is also the LOGIN button at the top of every page on this site. Your course materials, modules and tests all live there.

What are my login details?

You are given a login and password when you enrol. Sign in with either your username or the email address you enrolled with, plus that password.

I have forgotten my password.

Use the reset link on the login page. It emails a reset link to the address on your account, so use the address you enrolled with. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder, then contact us.

My login does not work.

Two things catch most people: the email address used to enrol is not the one being typed in, and a password manager filling in an old password. Try the password reset first — if that email arrives, the account exists and the password was the problem. If it does not arrive, contact us with the address you enrolled with.

How do I work through the course?

Work through the modules in the Learning Hub in order, completing the test at the end of each one. When all the modules are complete, your pass certificate is issued.

Certificates and accreditation

How do I get my certificate?

Complete all the modules of your course and a pass certificate is issued to you at the end.

Who recognises ISSPF qualifications?

Our accreditations, endorsements and university and federation partnerships are listed on the Accreditations page, and our partners on Partners. Individual course pages name the recognition that applies to that course.

Who writes and teaches the courses?

Practitioners working in the game. Every course page lists its faculty, and you can read their backgrounds on Faculty.

Anything else

Something on the site is broken.

Please tell us what you were looking at and what happened. A link to the page helps enormously.

Can I use what I learn with my own players?

ISSPF course content is educational and informational. It is not medical, therapeutic or individual performance advice, and our Terms and Conditions ask you to consult qualified medical and performance professionals, and to have appropriate insurance in place, before putting any training or coaching activity into practice.

How do I keep up with new material?

New articles, news and podcast episodes are published regularly. You can also follow ISSPF on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and X.

Still stuck?

Send us a message and a person will get back to you. Tell us the email address you enrolled with and which course you are on, and we can help far faster.
