You will be exposed to the importance of both mechanical & functional activities, exercise progression in youth development, the application of conditioning and co-ordinative drills, along with skill acquisition & developing a functional framework.
3. Individual development of the goalkeeper within a team environment

In Module 3, you’ll look at team development vs. individual development in soccer, isolated or integrated training, detecting problems with soccer references, the coaching process for goalkeepers and the implementation of goalkeeper-specific content.
4. Nutritional Support for the Youth Soccer Player: Maturation Status & LTAD

In this module, we’ll look at building a nutrition support structure and support across the development phases, the core principles & basis of sporting nutrition, and supporting growth & maturation through nutrition and nutrition for life.

In this module, we look at the role of the goalkeeper coach within a technical department, identification of key markers for success in the goalkeeping position, the young goalkeeper & key development stages and the transition phase from youth to senior professional level.

Through this module, you will understand the 4-functions of the game, the roles of the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper’s role in attacking, defending & transitional scenarios, effective communication within the goalkeeper role and dealing with key situations.

In this module, we look at how to understand emotion in soccer, anxiety in elite soccer, challenge state vs. threat state, altering perception & arousal and the practical application of pre-game mental preparation.
10. An Academy Goalkeeper Training Methodology: FC Barcelona

In this module, you will understand the relationships between outfielders & goalkeepers within game situations. We will look at training situations to overcome high pressure, we’ll assess the importance of the non-dominant foot and match-day strategies to maximise distribution within academy soccer.
