Marko Matušinskij

(UEFA B, ASCA Level 2 Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach)

Marko’s career was shaped by his breakthrough work inside Dinamo Zagreb’s high-performance environment, where he built the coaching habits and performance standards that still define his approach today. Since 2015, he has served as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Dinamo Zagreb, leading the physical performance programme across periodisation and training planning, performance monitoring and data analysis, injury-prevention and rehabilitation collaboration, and individualised player development within an elite club setting.

Alongside his applied work, Marko has developed a strong academic track as an Associate Lecturer at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb (since 2017). In this role, he delivers practical coursework focused on strength and conditioning programming, coaching methodology, and long-term development principles for youth athletes, bridging scientific foundations with real-world coaching delivery.

Marko also contributes to the game at a national level through the Croatian Football Federation, where he works as a Lecturer and previously supported the system as a U21 Physical Trainer. These roles reflect both technical credibility and a commitment to raising standards across development pathways, helping coaches apply modern performance concepts in a way that transfers to match demands.

Beyond the club and academic settings, Marko is Program Director at Ultrax HUB and works as a Performance Scientist and Consultant. Through education, presentations, mentorship, and consultancy, he supports clubs and practitioners in key areas such as session design, monitoring and assessment, small-sided games, strength training in football, and performance training for female athletes. His work consistently connects research to the pitch, offering clear frameworks and practical solutions that improve decision-making and athlete outcomes.

Marko is also a key faculty member of ISSPF, bringing high-level expertise in physical development and youth performance to coach education. His contribution supports the next generation of practitioners by translating elite performance standards into actionable approaches for long-term player development.
